To any who may be interested here is the schedule for Special Olympics Spring Games Competition.
Even if you do not know an athlete, you may find the games enjoyable. Pure sport. The focus on the competition versus the victory.
Special Olympic Oath:
"Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."
The attempts at these events is heart warming.
April 2009 Schedule: 9am Saturday 11th- Golf Tournament Underwood Golf Course
6pm Thursday 16th - Gymnastics Tournament, Hanks HS Gym (This one is fun, in particular the medals ceremony)
9am Saturday 18th - Aquatics Tournament Hawkins Pool (The next Michael Phelps just may be in this pool)
9am Sunday 19th - Figure Skating Tournament, Equestrian Center
6pm Thursday 23rd - Basketball Tournament, Riverside HS
6pm Friday 24th - Opening Ceremonies/Victory Dance Riverside HS
8am Saturday 25th - (Track & Field) Athletics, Basketball, Motor Activities and Tennis, Riverside HS. (Pack a picnic basket or buy snacks at the snack bar - bring shade it gets hot in the stands)

For all you sports fans!
Tired of over priced tickets for sporting events? How about some Olympic Level Events that can be had for a cheer and a hearty well done?

Thursday 16th 6pm- Gymnastics Tournament, Hanks HS Gym (This one is fun, in particular the medals ceremony)
Saturday 4/18 9am Hawkins Pool come cheer on your El Paso Penguins as they compete in the Special Olypics Swim meet.
Pizza courtesy of the athletes parents volunteers and contributors will be provided.
Sunday 19th 9am- Figure Skating Tournament, Equestrian Center
