From Rosa: "I couldn't agree more, and I would probably take it a step farther to suggest that if she feels she has a legitimate "assault"/"abuse" case against his son, she should be smart enough to keep it out of the public eye lest it have the effect of trivializing more serious abuse/assaults that take place every day. As a self-professed former victim of this problem, I would have thought she would know there are more appropriate ways to deal with this a woman should never let a man harm her, but there are women out there who aren't running for office, who are experiencing threats to their safety and even their lives I think she should be very careful in how she walks this line" Rosa, I agree with you. Crying wolf against Lozano and/or his son for political purposes could back-fire. I do not mean to say that I know for sure the abuse or assault didn't happen, but by making it a public issue right now, it sure looks to me like the complaint was done for poltical gain. That does trivialize real abuse that many women do suffer. Lozano's no better though if he files a police report against her also for political gain. This is some pretty bad drama really but it's like a trainwreck, you cannnot help but look at it. I'm just glad I don't live in their district.

If I think too much, I get really disappointed with the "choices" in that, these are the people with the time/willingness to run
the drama was big out in the NE yesterday. Castro paid the money the city attorneys said she owes and I remember thinking that this was timed for impact as well, as was the city atty's position that she couldn't be seated without paying it
I hope that she continues to pursue this issue in whatever legal manner she can, and that she does so on behalf of her constituents and El Pasoans, because the crux of her complaint against the city had to do with transparency in government. The city is already fighting this issue on other fronts (the PSB debate, just to name one) and I'd hate to see them gain any real leverage in hiding their actions more than they already do
