Court denies Rachel Quintana's request for a rehearing By Ramon Bracamontes / El Paso Times Posted: 11/06/2009 10:28:34 AM MST EL PASO -- A request by city Rep. Rachel Quintana to have the 8th Court of Appeals reconsider her forgery case has been denied, according to court records. The 8th Court of Appeals denied Quintana's request for a rehearing on Oct. 28. Quintana asked for the rehearing after the 8th Court of Appeals ruled in mid-October that her case was being handled properly by District Attorney Jaime Esparza. Quintana wanted the appeals court to dismiss the charge. Quintana is now left with two options - appeal to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals or prepare for trial. Any guesses/bet on which option she will choose? For more on this story please read Saturday's El Paso Times. Ramon Bracamontes may be reached at rbracamontes@elpasotimes.com; 546-6142.
