I could even argue that in pointing out the fact that Abeytia did it on his blog, by calling out some politicos and not others-based upon their ethnicity
again, my point being, I'd hoped people of all stripes would attend because what Chavez fought for was ideally justice that would benefit all

Did you ever read "Gideon's Trumptet"? another facet: when was the last time you heard of the rich discriminating against the rich? "No Mexicans Allowed" yes; "No Nig*ers" yes. "No Japs Allowed" yes "No Millionaires Allowed"... it's socioeconomic too Matthew's link has relevance too; hard to hear sometimes and I hadn't seen some of that stuff since college....in this country, a good part of it has been "white" vs. the other..... and by the way, let's not spare the knife when it comes to minorities and their racist attacks on each other! Ever read "The Invisible Man"? I highly recommend it "No Millionaires Allowed"...Have you forgotten about Old money versus new money? Think the Vanderbilts welcomed Jewish Money? Don't fool yourself there is "discrimination" at all socio economic levels. But we were discussing Racism and I assum Racial discrimination. I still do not see a racist incident in the news account that started this discussion. Can you explicitly point to any element of racism in the incident?

I thought I had, you just don't agree. We are calling it by different things; I assume this is because you see it more in a context of eco exploitation coupled with the fact that the owners were Latino (or at least had the surnames; I haven't sourced it yet and the UFW link doesn't provide too many details) we can't agree on the terminology Uh-oh I see it in a broader context

Racisim is simple - one race placing itself above another and exploiting that race in physical, mental, economic or whatever terms. In the case you chose to lead with it was pure and simple economic exploitation, as (as you point out an assumption on my part only by the surnames) all named parties appear to be of the same ethnic group. By the way the silly Hispanic is not a race does not hold with me, the Irish in the 1800's certainly felt like a racial group when confronted by the English and the Nativist in the USA

"Hispanic" isn't my term and I don't use it. It doesn't define me accurately. the purity you see is deceptive in my eyes, but you're right-the case I led with wasn't the best illustration I could come up with thank you for accepting at least one of the ways in which we can quantify it though. I know how hard that was for you hey, Web told me to behave. I'm trying here. Where's my cookie ;D

But, heck, I am nobody to be telling anyone to play nice. I take back what I wrote earlier. Let the gloves come off if you're so inclined. I'll be ring-side, taking bets.
