Barbara Perez has declared, go figger, now she thinks she wants to be a JP of all things. But this isn't the head scratcher for me, tho I hear some in the dem party are already having petty bickering matches about this particular race In my neck of the woods, Bruce King has been around forever; he's a local republican whose more notable assets have been that well, he's a republican and he's been around forever... I'm wondering if my beloved conservative buddies know anything about his challenger, because from what I hear, she's got King pretty nervous, which makes me like her even though, sigh, she's another republican. King's been criticized for years for being complacent and for his inability to apply the law, the larger concern for some dems I know being that in the 15 or so years he's been in this position, he hasn't yet learned the law....so every now and again, a bad story creeps from his court on one or more blunders I', wondering if anyone can tell me more about his challenger; as it is now, I'm ready to work against this incumbent. I think he's complacent, he's badmouthing a newbie because he doesn't want to lose his credibility but what he fails to understand is that he did that a long time ago. The fact that some of my republican friends are siding against him is enough for me to start looking to hope he can be replaced

I have a bone to pick with some local Republicans....I would like to know what is more important: a good representative or loyalty to party alliance, regardless of a candidate's level of competence? Or, in this case, an incumbent's? I hear that that shots were taken at Bruce King's challenger last night. Apparently some local republicans are claiming she isn't loyal to her party, because she has decided to run against an incumbent, who was lauded and praised and extolled for being a "loyal Rebublican" according to what was said last night, King has has maintained a good partisan voting record So I have a question....Is Bruce King so good a republican that he's a republican on the bench too? From what I hear, his challenger Kelly Dickson has crossed party lines on occasion to vote for candidates she felt were most qualified, whereas Bruce King has voted for Republicans, regardless of their qualifications Nice job, Mr. Moore, for showing El Paso that party does indeed trump what's best for us. Sorry Web, but this is disgusting, it's what dems have been accused of doing since the dawn of time, and don't jump on me for this. Because there have been times when I have crossed to vote my conscience, in opposition to my party The other "big" complaint about Ms. Dickson last night was that she is younger than this incumbent, and supposedly less-qualified for a JP bench. It's my understanding that this candidate recently retired from DA's office, which means she's been around the law for just a little while, round about the time, in fact that King first got his JP bench. So, I would imagine that in that time, she has learned a thing or two from her law books. Oh and of course, she's probably got some experience in the courtroom, too. God Help Me. I think I'm arguing for a former prosecutor. I need to go sit down
