El Paso's AAA ballclub will be named after a little shaking, ankle biting, yapping rat...The Chuhuahuas. I can only imagine what the opposing players are going to say about our mascot. A frakin' Chihuahua with a spiked colar. Let's go play the yappers. We're playing the Chuahuahuas!!?? Are the players going to shake like a frakin' Chihuahua? At least with the name Sun Dogs it could have been a snarling Coyote and of course before they were the Diablos they were called the Sun Kings. The General Manager of the club said Chihuahuas "represent fun and are fiercely loyal". Yep it's fun to watch them shake because they are so scared of everything.

I can just see people coming to the game with dog biscuits, and cell phones playing yapping little rat dogs.

I'm going to the game with dog biscuits, everytime the Chueehuees score, I'll throw a dog biscuit on the field.

I do have to tip my hat to the owners of the EP Chihuahuas and to their fan base. I still have to laugh though. They are a nation wide hit with their promotions and the ball park best in AAA according to reports. The Chihuahua face shirts were reported on ESPN and were a hit. I recently went on line to get ticket information. The games for the next month are pretty close to sell outs. They are close to .500. Ticket prices aren't bad at $15.00. Again kudos to the owner of the EP Chihuahuas and the El Paso fans for supporting them.
