You have to love the Irish for their ability to stir the soul. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xf5ZlTlrgwlyrics:The Cranberries - Ode To My Family (1994) Understand the things I say Don't turn away from me Cause I spent half my life out there You wouldn't disagree D'you see me, d'you see Do you like me, do you like me standing there D'you notice, d'you know Do you see me, do you see me Does anyone care Unhappiness, where's when I was young And we didn't give a darn 'cause we were raised To see life as a fun and take it if we can My mother, my mother she hold me Did she hold me, when I was out there My father, my father, he liked me Ol he liked me, does anyone care Understand what I've become It wasn't my design And people everywhere think Something better than I am But I miss you, I miss 'cause I liked it, I liked it When I was out there D'you know this, d'you know You did not find me, you did not find Does anyone care Unhappiness was when I was young And we didn't give a darn 'cause we were raised To see life as fun and take it if we can My mother, my mother she hold me Did she hold me, when I was out there My father, my father, he liked me Ol he liked me, does anyone care Does anyone care

That, in my opinion, is one of The Cranberries' all time best songs

Snil, you ever heard of a piece called "The Prayer Cycle"? Sets off a little bell in the memory banks, but no real clear memory

Here are a few movements. The entire piece is a prayer. A multicultural, interdenominational prayer
"Mercy"
"Peace"
"Forgiveness"

Nine movements-called "prayers" by a guy named Johnathan Elias
right up your alley, by the way....multilingual, multicultural--kinda "western" in influence considering the choral work on it, but it is really cool
Movement I: Mercy Movement II: Strength Movement III: Hope Movement IV: Compassion Movement V: Grace Movement VI: Innocence Movement VII: Forgiveness Movement VIII: Benediction Movement IX: Faith
The artists include: Alanis Morissette, Salif Keita (in Mali), Yungchen Lhamo (in Tibetan), Nusart Fateh Ali Khan (in Urdu) and Liz Constantine. Ofra Haza (in Hebrew-her last album performance.... Richard Bona (in Dwala), Perry Farrell (personal Chant), Mah Damba (in Mali) and the American Boys Choir, featuring Devin Provenzano and the English Chamber Orchestra & Chorus
so many languages represented, including French, English, Spanish, Hungarian.......lots of others I cannot distinguish--the great thing is, the way it's composed, sometimes they overlap in verses or counter-melodies
and it doesn't matter. Because the thing is pretty
not exactly "new age"/"religious"...but it's probably closer to these than to other genres
