the problem here is that each administration skews the "rules" to suit their own needs. The problem that I have with this is that Obama isn't distinguishing himself from these tactics, he's embracing them
so, in the end it's not strong enough for me, this "line" he's drawing away from the previous admin....there's just more rhetoric to "clarify" at this point, that's all
and the criticism from the left is mounting Web. He's not surprising or shocking me in that he breaks his word. He was doing that as a senator; they all do it

Oh but screw the "high value" information right? We certainly don't want to appear to be "harsh" to anyone. It's the US that's committed the war crimes. You want people tried, Rosa? You're in luck. Your president, despite saying that he wouldn't do that on Sunday, has now said he's open to the idea. BTW did you hear where he said he wants to consider doing this outside the normal hearing process (b/c you know, sometimes that breaks down). So I guess if you worked for the previous administration , you forfeited your Constitutional rights.Boy Web for a teacher you are sometimes slow to pick up on the message. The previous administration trashed the Constitution, so they have no claim to its protections now. Get with the program or we will reserve a room for you somewhere tropical! Y'know what, Snil, this is about as cogent an argument as any I've heard coming from the left recently. ;D Maybe I do need some time off in someplace tropical.

Now is the time to have a forced vacation - no one knows if they can use "intense interrogation techniques" any longer, so it really may be "Camp Gito"

I don't know where that argument about the misuse of the constitution fits into our discussion-I didn't bring that up and I don't think it applies it'd contradict my point in fact as to Obama's flip-flopping? We had time to see it. Look at what he did on the whole issue of late term abortions

I brought up the Constitution because of the remark Obama made about conducting an investigation outside the normal public hearing process because, you know, sometimes that breaks down.

why do the ends justify the means? is there such a thing as "pure pragmatics" in the case of torture?
