The Big Three are asking for a bail-out. They took heed of the bad press they received when they flew in on their coroporate jets and are making every other effort to "appear" as though they are open to changing their long-term ineffectual management. But they waited until they were knee-deep in a crisis before they did this.
I don't believe them when they tie this to the economy.

so lets see if they sell thier jets, take a pay cut, and possibly reorganize.... they might , will, not need a bail out......

one claimed (I forget which) he'd give up his 20+mil yearly salary, a-la-Iacocca, in order to demonstrate his commitment to change
the UAW has already made a few concessions here and there, but I'd guess the foreign makers are watching this closely

...or, they'll just add more level of beauracracy (spelling?) to it this is the news on the "progress" being made; they'll add "oversight" to an already existing model of failure, and they're being allowed to dip into the previous balilout not a good idea; I think this short-changes both "rescue" packages news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081208/ap_on_go_co/congress_autos
