President Obama is so arrogant. His defense of unlimited domestic spying is laughable. Now he wants a public debate about it? If he felt that way about it, he could have brought this to light at any time and had a debate. He wanted it hidden.

I think we have to keep this in context that the key to Obama winning the 2012 election was the widely noted use of data mining to reach low information voters individually with phone scripts tailored to them:

Good point Dot. They sure bragged about the campaign and how "smart" it was. Everything monitored, people prosecuted and jailed for exposing government "truths". Welcome to East Germany!!!

And consider.... if this is doing the job it is intended to do, then how does the FBI explain "not having any information" on the Tsaranov's after the Russians brought them to our attention..... Or Nidal Hassan for that matter who was quite open in his attitudes and intentions.

Has anyone forgotten Project Echelon? You know that Clinton administration super computer program in Maryland that monitored all phone calls going and coming abroad and listened for code words to start recording? Now how did they miss those 2 brothers in Boston?

I propose that those two brothers were conveniently overlooked. After all nothing gives the government an excuse for invasion of privacy like a good old terrorist act on U.S. soil.

The situation is hopeless. We are now in free fall down the slippery slope.
