Two years ago a Bowl-A-Thon was held to benefit the Robert Guillian Veterans Home on Kenworthy. The benefit was to raise money to support the Veteran's Home. A very noble indeavor. The money went to purchase and install automatic sliding glass doors and a large aguarium that would benefit the patients with alzheimers. It took a full year to get the federal government to give their blessings and get both installed. Everyone associated with the project was very agitated that the federal government was holding everything back. In hindsight, that one year was actually a good thing. Because guess what the administrators of the Veteran's Retirement Home handed to the Chairperson of the Bowl-A-Thon committee...Yep, a bill for $870 for maintenance of that aguarium and a request for $2000 for improvements to that aguarium. So in the end be very careful what to give to deserving charities (the Veteran's Retirement Home is a deserving charity) because it may come with a never ending price tag.

Well.... At least they didn't sue you for not raising enough money for them.... true story.
