I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that County Commissioners want to hire a County Manager and Budget Director. Problem is unlike City Council by state law budgetary matters have to be handled directly by the County Commissioners and that responsibility cannot be passed onto a manager . So either the CC's don't know state law or are dumber than a jelly fish and want to reduce their work load. So basically the Commissioners will decide where to spend money and the County Manager will enforce it. If anything else happens it's against state law. Like so many other actions by CC it's simply a huge waste of money to the tune of an estimated $254,000 a year. Of course that estimate is total BS because they haven't even decided on the salaries for the 2 positions, then you have department restructuring, office space, furniture, and their staff.

Is this Susie Byrd's next Government Pay Check?
